Wal Mart
Microlearning as a term reflects the emerging reality of the ever increasing fragmentation [emphasis mine] of both information sources and information units used for learning, especially in fast moving areas which see rapid development and a constantly high degree of change (Langreiter & Bolka, 2006) I see the micro thing (small units of rapidly changing user generated content, consumed by others in a short time period) becoming more fragmented especially within some of the sillier websites out there (one of which I'll share in a moment) Lucky you!

Google
alert* hit on my name this morning that pointed to the Human Capital Institute (HCI)
(*I have a
Google
alert set up for my name and for links to various sites I write for so I can make sure I'm able to comment or defend myself If you have any kind of web presence, I think it's important to have some way of monitoring what people are saying about you) Anyway I followed the link from the alert to HCI and noticed several blog posts (in their entirety) from this very blog

I had uploaded my slides an hour early and took care of all the necessary details shut off cell phone and house phone, banished children from my immediate area, let the dog out, shut the windows, and special bonus this week asked my contractor not to run the power saw or pound sheet rock from 1 2 pm.

He thinks social media removes the need to connect in person (something extroverts are more comfortable with).

Information Science Reference recently published a book by Miltiadis Lytras from the University of Patras, Greece, Robert Tennyson from the University of Minnesota, USA, and Patricia Ordóñez de Pablos, from the Universidad de Oviedo, Spain called Knowledge Networks: The Social Software Perspective. Here's a description: Social networks are collections of individuals linked together by a set of relations. The linkage of social networks to people and business contexts as well as to critical government domains is important for the emerging information ecosystems of the knowledge society.

By Janet Clarey January 16, 2009 Probably just three years ago, if you said Element K I would have immediately thought about off-the-shelf courseware. However, Element K has made substantial, progressive improvements to their LMS, most recently by building custom integrations between Jive Clearspace and KnowledgeHub, Element K's LMS. They announced this in October, 2008.
