The greater Boston area, no stranger to the Web CMS world (with companies like Percussion, PaperThin, Telerik US, and Refresh Software already based in the area), is about to add yet another content management mainstay to its denizens: Switzerland based Day Software has announced it will move its US Headquarters to Boston (from Newport Beach, CA) on . . Kevin Cochrane, Day's chief marketing officer, explained the move by saying: "It's just inefficient for us to be anywhere other than Boston," adding that "the majority of the partners we need to work with today in the Enterprise 2.0 and Web 2.0 universe are in the Boston area

San Francisco based Terracotta, Inc. has announced an open source distributed caching framework that marries Terracotta's Network Attached Memory system with Ehcache (a popular Java based general purpose caching framework). . Terracotta (in case you're not familiar with it) is a system for clustering the Java Virtual Machine transparently across multiple machines in such a way that native Java apps essentially don't know they've been clustered. Terracotta for Ehcache makes Ehcache a distributed cache, shielding apps from issues involving cache locality.
